April Message from Superintendent
Message from the Superintendent
April 30, 2018
Greetings to Pine-Richland Students, Parents & Community,
With approximately one month remaining in the school year, students in the Class of 2018 are preparing for graduation and the opportunity to pursue their personal goals. The commencement ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 1st at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the Pine-Richland Stadium. The ceremony represents the culmination of so many experiences and much hard work both inside and outside the classroom.
As we finish the year, it provides another opportunity to emphasize the value of communication. Our teachers and guidance counselors are able to discuss academic progress and provide feedback as needed. In addition, we know that some students may need social and/or emotional support as well. Our guidance counselors and pupil services staff in the district are trained and available to provide that help or work with parents to access outside resources. We welcome the opportunity for ongoing communication and collaboration with our families.
These stories cover a wide range of topics related to academic achievement, extra-curricular academic and athletic competitions, service projects, and more.
Representatives of the Math and Business & Computer Science Departments will present a series of recommendations tonight at an Academic Achievement Committee meeting. This in-depth program review process was based on internal and external research over the past eight months. In addition, a subset of the math program review resulted in a recommendation for new K - 5 resources. Those resources and some science resources are on public display at the district office and Northern Tier Regional Library. A complete quarterly update of the
2017 - 2018 key initiatives is available for review.
Thank you again for your commitment to and support of the Pine-Richland School District.
