Pine-Richland School District Strategic Planning Overview

  • Strategic Planning

The Pine-Richland School District is working on its Strategic Plan for 2016-2019. The purpose of strategic planning is to:

Set direction in areas that …

… support the educational mission of the district

… reflect the current state of the district (strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities)

… embody the values and beliefs of the people of the district (internal and external)

The district is gathering in put from our stakeholders (parents, students, staff, alumni and community). You can view our town hall sessions and surveys.

PA Department of Education Comprehensive Plan

  • District Completes PA Department of Education Comprehensive Plan

The administrative team has completed requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education's (PDE) online Comprehensive Planning tool. PDE provides a series of requirements and expectations on public school districts through this process. As a Phase 1 school district, PRSD is required to submit the Comprehensive Plan by November 30, 2015. This plan officially addresses the timeline of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019.

Members of the senior leadership team  worked with a representative from the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and Capital Area Intermediate Unit to ensure compliance with PDE expectations.  The Capital Area Intermediate Unit serves as the statewide educational consultant responsible for guiding school districts in the completion of the plan. Based on multiple discussions, it appears that PRSD is able to take the internal process/product (i.e., five categories, long-term goals, and short-term actions) and input that content in the prescribed online tool.
